What I Bring
Welcome
Hi, I’m Amelia. I’m a trauma-informed coach with a background in leadership, education, and working with people across diverse environments—from early childhood development to high-pressure professional settings.
My path into coaching comes from years of:
• Supporting individuals through phases of stress and transition
• Leading teams with a focus on success, belonging, emotional intelligence, and growth
• Teaching, mentoring, and guiding people through all phases of life (both children and adults)
Before I became a coach, I spent years in rooms where the stakes were high and the pace was relentless. As Director of Operations for one of San Francisco's top-producing real estate teams, I managed complex transactions and the very human anxieties that came with them. I've also taught and mentored young children, led and trained teams in wellness and meditation settings, managed a fast-paced restaurant, and studied abroad in ways that stretched how I understand language, culture, and belonging.
Across all of it, one truth kept surfacing: people don't need to be pushed—they need to be met.
That understanding is the foundation of my coaching practice today.
My path here is personal as much as professional. From an early age I learned how family dynamics—rupture, distance, repair—shape our sense of who we are. My childhood was marked by both the dissolution of my parents' marriage and the death of a sibling. At the age of 24 I survived a near-fatal motorcycle crash, revived on a San Francisco street. Coming that close to the edge of my own existence changed my relationship with mortality—and with aliveness. I know, in my body, how quickly everything can change, and how much tenderness that truth asks of us.
Learning through those experiences changed me. It gave me a deep respect for how much our patterns once protected us, but no longer need to control our lives. I believe they can shift as we discover we are not limited by the behavioral and thought habits of our early childhood and ancestral lineage. It's why generational healing sits at the heart of my trauma-informed practice: not as an abstract idea, but as something I have walked through myself. Alchemizing my personal experiences of grief and anger allow me to sit with losses of all kinds with courage and honesty.
My lifelong curiosity about what helps people feel safe enough to be themselves — and what gets in the way — guides my work. Many of us move through the world without the space to truly pause, feel, or be met where we are. Coaching became a natural extension of that awareness: creating a space where something more honest, steady, and supportive can emerge. Uncovering how we’ve adapted, how we carry our experiences, and how we find our way back to ourselves is what I love doing most.
I come from a family of musicians, medical doctors, nurses, dancers, professors, academics, priests, ministers, cantors, and visual artists—people devoted to healing, teaching, and expression in equal measure. My ancestry combines Ashkenazi Jewish and Irish Catholic traditions, while my childhood wove in both Southeast Asian and Japanese Buddhist principles and values, and a deep reverence for the sacredness of nature. This variety of spiritual lineage enables me to experience the profoundly sacred in the everyday.
From age twelve through high school, I was raised in a two-mother household—an LGBTQIA+ family that taught me, from the inside, what chosen love and lived courage look like. Justice work isn't something I came to later in life; I was marching in the streets of San Francisco as an infant in arms, and practicing yoga before I could name it. That thread has run through my life ever since—from anti-genocide advocacy with the Enough Project in Washington, D.C., to tutoring elementary school students in both Spanish and English, to serving on the Girls Advisory Board at GirlVentures. Caring for people with less than I have has never felt like a choice so much as a birthright.
Today, my spiritual life is rooted in forest meditation practice, yoga, dance, swimming in rivers and oceans.
These are the modalities I’ve trained in:
Mentor Agility coaching and leadership institute
Somatica Method
Enneagram personality typing system
Authentic Relating practice
Circling meditation
Aletheia Integral Relating
Nonviolent Communication process
These practices aren't separate from my coaching—they are the ground I stand upon when I sit with you.
I am a sixth-generation San Franciscan who carries a deep connection to place, community, and the subtle ways our environments shape our inner lives. My love of languages and cultures began at a young age and deepened through a B.A. in International Affairs with a minor in Linguistic Anthropology from The George Washington University, including a year of university in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I speak English and Spanish, and a bit of French, working with people across cultural contexts with sensitivity to language, identity, and lived experience. Moving between languages often opens new pathways for meaning—sometimes the word for what you're feeling exists in a language you didn't expect.
My Approach
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
Simple ideas
Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
Lasting impact
We build with clarity, act with integrity, and always stay curious.
